Given a meaningful task, students worked together(and even corrected each other!) to count by 25s to count the number of cubes. Then the teacher came to observe (moving in perhaps a little too close!) and asked them to check their counting by arranging them in an easier way to see the total. Some of the students were a little more assertive or dominant than the others, and I am left wondering if all of the student would be able to count by 25s correctly, not just the more assertive ones. I was hoping that the teacher would ask one of the more quieter ones to count, but she didn't.
